In a Politico/George Washington University survey, 62% of all Americans favor a road to citizenship for illegal immigrants. 35% oppose any measure.
Republicans favor the idea 49-45%, while Democrats say yes by a margin of 77-19%.
President Obama’s “Dream Act”, allowing children of ‘undocumented’ or illegal workers to stay permanently in the country if they graduate from college or serve in the military received a whopping 77 percent favorability, vs. only 19% in opposition.
The poll also shows that President Obama has not done enough to solve the problem. He received 44% in favor of his policies, vs. 48% against.
The poll showed Republicans lagging behind in serious discussion over the issue.
That may change, all they have to do is to look at the percentage of Latino vote they did not receive in the election.

This so-called polled isn’t worth the paper is it written upon, unless of course ya want to use to it to wipe you’re bum with….It IS All about How you ask the ?question?…I’ve seen Much more reliable Polls showing 72% of American’s Want our Border secured AND Enforced & the ILLEGAL moochers/stealers Deported….A.S.A.P….nuff said!!!!
I am a democrat and I do not support a path to citizenship. I support a return to their native country. Deportation.
20,000 Americans citizens are out of work and we’re catering to people who violated our borders. But of course they’re coming here. They get free education, every school now has an ESOL program, free healthcare (well, free for them- Americans foot the bill).
Enough is enough. America for Americans first. If you are here illegally, Adios Amigo.
Ok don’t forget that your ancestors are not from this country so if every one needs to go back to their native country you should too. Another thing there are plenty of jobs, maybe not the ones you or some stuck up people would choose. Do you think illegals enjoy doing degrading jobs? No but they do what ever it takes to raise their familys. And that’s why they come here.

Every one does not need to go back to their native country, just the ones who refuse to abide by the law. It is pure and simple. They are criminals who think the law should not apply to them. All criminals are the same. They truly believe they are not cut from the same cloth as those dummies who do abide by the law.
Why do you call construction and factory work “degrading jobs”?
You’d have to be a fool to believe this poll’s results without knowing specifically who was called and specifically how the questions were asked. I was called TWICE for this poll. The first time I identified myself as a Republican. The line immediately went dead. I received another call, same exact setup, a few hours later, by a different pollster. This time I identified myself as a Democrat and, surprise, no disconnection. The questions were ridiculously worded, almost to the point of “Would you prefer to see a path to citizenship or would you like to see illegal immigrants rounded up and boiled in oil, including innocent babies?”
This legal citizens of this country overwhelmingly want enforcement, not amnesty, when it comes to illegal aliens. No one needs a slanted, inaccurate poll to tell them that. But nice try, Politico.
