Azarenka’s Australian Open Streak Ends

Victoria Azarenka’s Australian Open winning streak which stretched to 18 ended on Wednesday 6-1, 5-7, 6-0 in an upset defeat to Agnieszka Radawanska.

This is one of many major upsets in this year’s Australian Open, following the early exits of Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams. The only higher ranked woman still in the tournament is Li Na, who will next be playing 19-year-old Canadian Eugenie Bouchard.

Radawanska will play No. 20 seeded Dominika Cibulkova, winner of a rout last round 6-3, 6-0 against No. 11 Simona Halep.
