A traffic accident in Collier County, Florida has blocked the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 in Naples as police are arriving on the scene. All southbound lanes have been blocked and traffic is building as police work to free at least one lane for travel. The accident occurred when a car struck a motorcycle. Trauma units were called to the scene immediately, but now report has been given about the number of injuries or the nature and extent of them. An update on the condition of those involved in the wreck is expected.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at the moment, as police are examining the scene and interviewing witnesses. Both Collier County deputies and officers from the Florida Highway Patrol have responded to the call and are at the scene. The initial report was given by a Collier County spokeswoman, and further details are expected once the accident is cleared and normal traffic flow is restored.
