Richmond Store Clerk Shot, Suspect Armed and Still at Large

richmondA Richmond, Virginia, convenience store clerk was shot and wounded on Tuesday afternoon. Police are still trying to apprehend the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous.

The shooting took place at the One Stop Food Market off Meadowbridge Road near the Richmond-Henrico line around 5:30 p.m. According to authorities, the store clerk was shot twice, and was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear if this was a robbery-related incident. Police are currently interviewing witnesses at the scene to see where the shooter could have fled.

The suspect is described as a black male, between five-foot nine inches and six feet tall, with a normal build. Police told sources that witnesses stated the suspect was last seen with, “a black mask and a shirt tied over his head, and had on a black collared shirt with a horizontal white stripe, a black shirt underneath and black pants. The black male may also possibly have dreadlocks.

Richmond Police have asked the public to aid in their search for the shooter. People are to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000 for any information relating to the incident.
