Wendy Williams who has been taking a hiatus from “The Wendy Williams Show” since Dec. 2018, will return to the show on March 4, 2019.
In a statement released on Feb. 21, Debar-Mercury, the producer and distributor of the show called Williams a significant talent and one of the most important voices on daytime television. Everybody awaits her return to the set and can not wait to see her sit in her iconic purple chair.
Debar-Mercury continued to thank the hosts who filled in for Williams while she was out. They also thanked the fans who continued to support the show for ten years.
Williams said she took the hiatus from her show due to treatment required for her Graves’ disease. Even though she said long term hospitalization was necessary, the talk show host was spotted in Florida with a friend at a CVS drugstore.
During Williams absence from the show, the media reported multiple reports regarding problems with her marriage to Kevin Hunter. It was said he had impregnated his mistress and was abusive to her.
While taking care of her medical issues, Nick Cannon, Jerry O’Connell, Michael Rapaport, and others filled in as guest hosts. Williams released a statement thanking Debar-Mercury for believing in her. She also thanked her staff for continuing in her absence.
