Many employers offer perks to their employees including discounts and even money towards their education. Among the companies that offer these employee incentives are Starbucks and Chipotle, and while the coffee chain is known for being rather generous with their employees, it looks like the fast casual Mexican chain is upping their game as well.
According to a report from “Fast Casual,” it seems that Chipotle will be working to improve their current education initiative for employees by funding “100% of tuition costs, up front, for 75 different business and technology degrees via a partnership with Guild Education.” Chipotle employees need only have been working for the company for 120 days to be eligible for the tuition funding. There are a number of accredited universities that are allowed as part of this education initiative, including Southern New Hampshire University and The University of Arizona.
The Chief People Officer at Chipotle, Marissa Andrada, explained that the company, “recognizes that financial barriers can be one of the biggest obstacles that impede our employees from achieving their fullest potential.” In an effort to help those employees, they are happy to offer a better program that will allow their workers to achieve an education without finding themselves dealing with overwhelming debt.
At the end of the day, Chipotle is doing their part to make their employees’ lives better. If that means helping them expand their education, then that is exactly what they are going to do, and if that allows them to compete with other employers and their own incentives, then that just helps to make them a leader in employee satisfaction.
