Williams

Wendy Williams is in the news once again, this time for mommy shaming Ashley Graham. Graham is a plus-size model in the United States, and a recent mom. Apparently she was in Staples when her seven-week-old baby had a case of explosive diaper. The 32-year-old new mom just wanted to run some errands. Instead, what she got was backlash from Williams and many others.

With no restroom in sight, the model did the only thing she could think of: Change her child on her portable changing mat. She found a quiet spot out of the way in the aisle she was in, laid down the mat, and changed the stinky diaper. She later posted a picture of this on her social media page saying: “First diaper blow up while running errands with no restroom in sight! Thank God I remembered to put the changing mat in the diaper bag!!!”

She has received a mixture of comments from her many followers and fans. Some say that they fully understand the dilemma; fellow stars Amy Shumar and JWoww are just a couple who stand with Graham. However, some people, such as Wendy Williams, have taken to shaming her for her behavior. In fact, Williams is just one of many who say what she did is not right.

Williams has taken it upon herself to share her feelings about this subject on her show. “I don’t want to see that. If you’re taking your 7-week-old baby to Staples, you’re watching the baby more than you’re watching where the Sharpies and rings of paper and cartridges for your printer are… This is not cool. I don’t know why we have to know about it on your Instagram.” Williams says that she is a mother and she would never do this. Williams has also made it clear to everyone that she has no filter and says what is on her mind.

Many mothers have had to experience something like this before. Most fully believe that if there are no proper places to change their children’s diapers, then one must be created. Therefore, it is to be expected to see a parent changing their child’s soiled diaper at some point in time. Others believe that Graham should have gone back to her car or somewhere more ‘proper’ to do the deed that must be done.

Society seems to frown on things that they believe to be improper, i.e. changing a diaper in public. Some believe that the stigma society tries to impose on people is wrong. A parent should be allowed to raise their child without being shamed for doing the best they can. People all over the world are wondering what Williams will say next.
