R. Kelly Case Sent to Grand Jury as New Under Age Sex Tape Surfaces

KellyCNN is reporting a grand jury convened in Cook County Illinois on Feb. 18, 2019, in connection with a new alleged incident against R. Kelly.

On Feb. 16, 2019, attorney Michael Avenatti tweeted on Twitter it was brought to his attention that a third tape existed which showed R. Kelly performing sexual acts with an underage girl. Avenatti informed the public on Twitter Feb. 17 that the 14-year-old in the video which was provided to the State Attorney was not the client represented by Gloria Allred, who claimed to have had underage sex with the singer.

R. Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, spoke with CNN on Feb. 18 and said he had not been informed about the case being sent to the grand jury.

CNN spoke with the Cook County State’s Attorney and the would not confirm or deny a grand jury would be hearing the R. Kelly case.

CNN viewed the videotape that appears to show R. Kelly performing sexual acts with a girl who is alleged to be 14 years old. Avenatti is representing an individual who he referred to as an “R. Kelly whistleblower.”

Avenatti said that his client knows who the girl in the videotape with R. Kelly is. He has known the singer for decades, worked for him, and met the girl on multiple occasions.

Greenberg was asked for a comment from the Daily News regarding Avenatti’s claim of having an underage sex tape with his client. Greenberg responded in an email that Avenatti had blocked him on Twitter.
