The Wayans brothers are back 26 years later in the hilarious, skewered horror, “Scary Movie 6.”
Marlon says, “The world needs one big laugh because we haven’t laughed at ourselves in about 20 years.”
“Scary Movie 6′ Trailer
The first teaser trailer debuted in theaters ahead of “Scream 7” on Feb. 27 before its release online by Paramount Pictures on March 2.
Among the films spoofed are “Terrifier,” “M3GAN,” “Scream,” “Halloween,” “The Substance,” and “Weapons.”
Cast and Plot
Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, played by Anna Faris and Regina Hall, are back. Their return marks the first time since 2006 that the core cast has been reunited on the silver screen.
Marlon and Shawn Wayans, who wrote and starred in the first two installments of the franchise, directed by brother Keenan Ivory Wayans, have also returned with their “Wayans flavor.”
This installment welcomes “Scary Movie”- newcomers Damon Wayans, Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner, and the return of Cheri Oteri and Chris Elliott.
It has not been revealed if Oteri and Elliott are reprising their previous roles or presenting new ones, but anything is possible.
Oteri played Gail Halstrom in the 2000 first installment of the franchise, and Elliott is remembered for his role as Hanson, the creepy haunted mansion caretaker from “Scary Movie 2” in 2001. Elliott played a different role in the 2006 installment “Scary Movie 4” as Ezekiel, a village loon.
Other newcomers include Olivia Rose Keegan, Cameron Scott Roberts, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Ruby Snowber, Gregg Wayans, and Benny Zielke.
Full plot details remain hush-hush, but the movie will follow Cindy and Brenda as they find themselves, once again, entangled in a series of ridiculous horror scenarios inspired by today’s most talked-about horror hits.
Lochlyn Monroe, Jon Abrahams, and Dave Sheridan also return to the cast, while Rick Alvarez and Michael Tiddes rejoin the franchise behind the scenes.
Audiences can expect exaggerated jump scares, outrageous pop culture references, and plenty of jokes that break the fourth wall, according to Hollywood.com.
“Scary Movie 6” arrives in theaters on June 12, 2026.
